It Could Be Anyone Behind The Makeup
When I was seven, my mother took me to see Kiss at Madison Square Garden. I’d seen lots of live music as a child, thanks to my mother and my uncle, who’d brought me to jazz performances held in the lofts and clubs of New York City. But Kiss was a life-changing experience that contradicted the musicianship and intimacy of jazz with the bombast and spectacle of arena rock.
Now, forty years later, I’m taking my mother to see Kiss.
